Better known as Brusselsgeek, Jennifer Baker has been a journalist in print, radio and television for more than 20 years, the last 10 or so specialising in EU policy and live event presentation.

Dr. Barelle has a multidisciplinary background which spans biomedical engineering as well as information and communication technology (ICT). it positions her to bridge the gap between technology and its ethical, societal, and practical implications. Her research focuses on the development of specific solutions that support decision makers of various sectors e.g. health care, automotive, construction ... always putting at the center of the innovation process the end users. One of the major protagonists of several European Projects, she has also a long experience in EU project management from the planning and procurement to the execution of the project. Currently R&D Project Manager at European Dynamics, she is the coordinator of the HORIZON EUROPE NGI TRUSTCHAIN project, of the HORIZON 2020 NGI ONTOCHAIN project and she participates in the research and management tasks of the HORIZON 2020 INCISIVE project. Lawyer by training, Fabrizia joined the European Commission in 1992 having worked in the internal market, competition, maritime affairs digital departments, and in the cabinet office of the Vice-President for industrial relations. Her main responsibilities have included voting rights and the citizenship of the Union, the Safe Harbour negotiations on privacy with the US, antitrust and mergers in the maritime transport sector and the pathway to decarbonisation of heavy industries. Afterwards she lead the unit dealing with the Recovery and Resilience Facility in the digital domain, economic analysis and digital skills. Since 2023 she is the Head of Unit Next-Generation Internet at The Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology.
